An elderly woman in Italy became a victim of a scam in which fraudsters used artificial intelligence to replicate her daughter’s voice, convincing her that her son-in-law had been in a car accident. Believing she was helping her family, she handed over 30,000 euros to the scammers. The police managed to identify a 55-year-old man from Campania, already known for similar scams.
