Elections in Zaječar and Kosjerić: Dominance of the Serbian Progressive Party

Following the elections in Zaječar and Kosjerić, the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) remained the overwhelmingly strongest political party in Serbia. Lawyer Vladimir Đukanović from SNS published four key facts confirming the party’s strength: an increase in supporters even in areas previously unfavorable, success in creating a referendum-like atmosphere leading to higher turnout, and preservation of the voter base despite a fierce opposition campaign. This situation highlights the political stability of SNS and the crisis within the opposition.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning outlets might emphasize the dominance of the ruling party as a sign of political consolidation but could critique the lack of genuine democratic competition and highlight concerns about media freedom and opposition suppression during the campaign.

Center: Centrist sources tend to report the election results factually, focusing on the statistical increase in SNS support and voter turnout, while noting the challenges faced by the opposition without strong editorial bias.

Right: Right-leaning media emphasize the strength and resilience of the Serbian Progressive Party, highlighting the increase in voter support despite opposition attacks, portraying SNS as the stable and dominant political force in Serbia.
