Emergency Exit at Exit Festival: Art Revolution or Chaos Without Rules?

Imagine being at a music festival, but what you get isn’t a concert, a play, a dance, or even a visual spectacle. What is it then? It’s Emergency Exit — a multidisciplinary performance that shatters genre boundaries and pulls you into raw human energy, sound, movement, and imagery. Premiered on July 10 at the Exit Festival, this project by the Spanish troupe La Fura dels Baus and regional artists is not just art; it’s a collective meditation on our relationship with nature and the planet.

This performance isn’t for those seeking a safe distance — there’s no fourth wall, no passive watching. The audience becomes part of the chaos, resistance, and awakening. La Fura dels Baus, known for their spectacular projects, brings a unique blend of visual storytelling and immersive scenography to the heart of the Exit Festival.

The project involves 20 local and regional artists, with music composed by Satori, who is thrilled to be part of this eco-conscious performance. Using open source artificial intelligence, the performance brings nature to life in real time, blending art and technology.

Emergency Exit is not just an artistic event; it’s a call to action — all visitors, performers, workers, and volunteers can sign a manifesto to save the planet. Supported by the European Union through the Creative Europe program, this performance will be shown after Exit Festival at the Boom Festival in Portugal, and next year at the Sea Star Festival in Umag and in Barcelona.

If you thought you’ve seen it all at festivals, think again. Emergency Exit is here to shake you up, confuse you, and maybe even wake you up. So, what do you think — art that changes the world or just another chaotic mess? Drop a comment, maybe together we’ll find an exit from this artistic maze!
