Er Serbia Smashes Records: Over 2 Million Passengers in June for the First Time!
Ready for some jaw-dropping numbers? Er Serbia, our national airline, has finally shattered all records! President Aleksandar Vučić proudly announced that Er Serbia will, for the first time ever, surpass 2 million passengers in June alone. Yes, you read that right – TWO MILLION passengers in just one month! And that’s not all – the airline expects to carry a whopping 4.7 million passengers throughout 2024.
What does this mean for Serbia?
This is a massive achievement for the country, especially when you remember the days of former Yugoslavia and JAT, which used to carry about 4.5 million passengers annually. Now, with fewer people than back then, Er Serbia is on track to beat those numbers. Vučić emphasized that this is a source of pride for every Serbian citizen and a sign that the country is moving forward.
New factories and economic boom in Western Serbia
But wait, there’s more! The president also announced the opening of new factories in Western Serbia. Palfinger has already started operations in Niš, and by the end of the year, Italian Ariston and German Boge factories will open in Niš as well. This means new jobs and economic growth for the region.
Agriculture and a possible 3% growth?
Vučić is optimistic about agriculture too. If July brings good rains, Serbia could see a growth rate of up to 3%. Of course, it all depends on the weather, but the plans are big and ambitious.
Why does this matter?
Because it shows Serbia isn’t standing still. With rising passenger numbers and new factories opening, the country is slowly but surely returning to the map of serious economic players. While some complain about problems, Vučić and Er Serbia are flying high, proving it can be done – you just have to want it.
