Did you know that the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade has extended the exhibition of zubuns from Kosovo and Metohija until August 12? The zubun, part of the traditional women’s festive folk costume, is one of the oldest garments in the South Balkan region. The museum holds as many as 46 zubuns from this collection but rarely displays them due to their age and fragility. This exhibition is a rare chance to see eight exceptionally well-preserved pieces. The zubuns are made of white domestic cloth and richly decorated with embroidery, braids, and appliqués, making them not just clothing but works of art. The exhibition was organized on the occasion of Vidovdan and, due to great public interest, has been extended until mid-August. If you love tradition and history, this is an event you can’t miss! And if you’ve already been, share your impressions — did the zubun leave a mark on your memory, or did you expect something else? Let the debate begin!
