European employers will be prohibited from using artificial intelligence to monitor employees’ emotions, and websites will not be allowed to use AI to prompt users to spend money, according to the EU guidelines on artificial intelligence. The Artificial Intelligence Act, mandatory since last year, will be fully enforced from August 2, 2026. Prohibited practices include user manipulation and targeted advertising based on age, disability, or socio-economic status.
