The EU Special Envoy for Dialogue, Peter Sorensen, assumed his duties on February 1st, succeeding Miroslav Lajčak, and held discussions with the chief negotiators of Pristina and Belgrade, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petković. Sorensen emphasized the importance of constructive talks and announced close cooperation with the head of EULEX, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, following a meeting in Brussels. Visits to Kosovo and Serbia are planned to further advance the dialogue.
