European Commission Finally Corrects Montenegro Flag Mistake

Can you believe the European Commission didn’t know what Montenegro’s official flag looked like for TWO WHOLE YEARS? Yep, you read that right! On their official EU Single Market website, next to the name of Montenegrin entrepreneur Đorđe Stojović, there was a TRICOLOR flag instead of the official Montenegrin flag. A TRICOLOR! This embarrassing blunder lasted a full two years until social media users and the press blew the whistle. Only after the uproar did the EC finally fix the mistake. How on earth does such a major institution make such an amateurish error? Was it just carelessness or something more? Đorđe Stojović, presented as a Montenegrin master’s student in international relations, deserves to have his name displayed alongside the correct flag of his country, not some confusing and disrespectful substitute. This fiasco casts a shadow over the European Commission’s reputation and highlights how crucial it is for institutions to pay attention to details, especially when it comes to national identity. Thought it was just a harmless mistake? Think again! This is about respect and seriousness towards EU member states and candidates. So, what do you think about this blunder? Just a harmless slip-up or a sign of something bigger? Drop your thoughts and don’t be shy to crack a joke about this – maybe it’s time for the EC to start a flag course for their staff!
