Have you ever thought we live in a country where politicians with immunity can attack journalists without a single proof? Welcome to Montenegro 2024! Boris Bogdanović, a Democrat MP, decided to accuse the media with zero evidence. And his threatening rhetoric endangers freedom of expression and journalists’ safety. Is this democracy or dictatorship in disguise? The Center for Civic Education (CGO) immediately condemned these attacks, stressing that European values are NOT built by targeting free and professional media.
But wait, it’s not the first time! High-ranking Democrat officials use their political immunity and power to directly undermine media freedom. And guess what? Numerous domestic and international organizations have already condemned such behavior. CGO called on Culture Minister Tamara Vujović to clearly and unequivocally defend media freedom, because without free media, there is no real democracy.
Imagine this – instead of dealing with real problems, politicians are busy hunting journalists! Is this the European path? Is this freedom of speech? Or just another way to silence criticism and hide dirty secrets? If this sounds like a bad movie plot, sadly, it’s our reality. So, what do you think?
