The specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade is attracting an increasing number of participating countries, according to the director of the Expo enterprise, Dušan Borovčanin. After the first International Planning Meeting (IPM), the number of participating countries is expected to surpass previous records. Participation of countries is also seen as an expression of political will to be part of the event. Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić emphasizes that the presence of countries at the IPM is not just statistics but an opportunity to improve Serbia’s international image, which has long been shadowed by negative perceptions from the 1990s. He highlights that the Expo represents a chance for millions of people to experience the spirit, character, and values of Serbia. Both sides view the Expo as an important event for promoting Serbia on the international stage and as a symbol of the country’s political and economic stability.
