Family Tragedy in Prilep: Uncle Kills Nephew and His Son, Then Commits Suicide

A chilling family tragedy has rocked the town of Prilep and its surroundings. A 63-year-old armed uncle lured his 43-year-old nephew and the nephew’s minor son to a family home in the Točila neighborhood, where he cold-bloodedly murdered them both. Reports vary on the boy’s age, stating he was either 11 or 13 years old. The motive? Unresolved family disputes and messy inheritance issues. After committing the double murder, the uncle posted his motives on social media before taking his own life.

The police responded swiftly, but the situation was extremely dangerous. The uncle was armed with a pistol and a bomb, threatening to kill officers if they approached. Special police units known as the Tigers arrived by helicopter from Skopje to neutralize the threat. At one point, the uncle threw a bomb at the police, which luckily did not explode, and then opened fire. The police returned fire and killed him before entering the house.

This horrific event claimed three lives and left the town of Prilep in shock. All three bodies were sent for autopsy, and the police confiscated weapons and ammunition found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with official information expected soon from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
