Filip Petrušev Stays in Europe: NBA Dream Crumbles, Olympiakos Demands Millions!

Imagine this – Filip Petrušev, the Serbian basketball center, is NOT going to the NBA! Yes, you read that right. After the NBA clause in his contract with Olympiakos expired, and he didn’t get a good offer from across the Atlantic, it’s clear we’ll be watching him in Europe next season. Greek media reveal Olympiakos is demanding a whopping 1.2 million euros as a transfer fee, which is a huge roadblock.

To make things juicier, Olympiakos coach Giorgos Bartzokas doesn’t want Petrušev in Piraeus, so Israeli club Hapoel has jumped into the race, and a trade between Euroleague teams might be brewing. Last season, Petrušev posted solid stats: 14.1 points per game, 64% shooting on twos, 28% on threes, 67% free throws, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists, with a 16.5 efficiency rating over 28 Euroleague games.

So here we have a real basketball soap opera with millions on the table, refusals, and ongoing negotiations. Will Petrušev end up in Crvena zvezda or another European club? Anything’s possible, but the NBA dream is on hold for now. What do you think – is this the end of his NBA story or just the start of a new European adventure? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s team NBA and who’s team Europe!
