The Vice President of the Kotor municipality, Igor Kumburović, warned about a safety issue related to refueling boats at the Eko Petrol gas station in Kotor. Refueling fuel into plastic containers and jerrycans, which are then transferred to boats, carries a high risk of fire, especially due to high temperatures and static electricity. Yesterday, a major accident was narrowly avoided when a fire broke out at the gas station, but the fire was extinguished before it reached the fuel tanks thanks to the proximity of the fire station. Kumburović called for a ban on refueling fuel into jerrycans and containers at gas stations, as well as on storing fuel in vehicles due to the significant risk, especially during the summer. Nearby, there is a gas station with the most advanced safety measures where it is safe to refuel boats.
Political Perspectives:
Left: Left-leaning reports emphasize the safety risks posed by improper fuel handling and the need for stricter regulations to protect public safety and the environment. They highlight the responsibility of local authorities to enforce safety standards and prevent potential disasters.
Center: Center-leaning coverage focuses on the factual reporting of the incident, the quick response that prevented a disaster, and the official calls for safety measures and public awareness. It presents a balanced view of the risks and the steps being taken to mitigate them.
Right: Right-leaning narratives may stress personal responsibility and caution among citizens and businesses, emphasizing the importance of following safety protocols without necessarily calling for increased regulation. They may also highlight the efficiency of emergency services in preventing a larger catastrophe.
