Fire on Croatian Island Susak Extinguished

The fire that broke out last night on the Croatian island of Susak was completely extinguished after midnight. Firefighters stood guard throughout the night and the fire did not reignite. It is believed that the fire was caused by a fired signal rocket that fell in a difficult-to-access area and ignited grass, low vegetation, and maquis. Nearby settlements were not endangered. The fire was initially attempted to be extinguished by members of the Susak volunteer fire department, but they were unsuccessful and called for help from firefighters from Lošinj. Firefighters from Cres and Krk were ready to intervene but were not needed.

Political Perspectives:

Left: Left-leaning sources emphasize the environmental impact of the fire, highlighting the damage to local flora and the importance of preventive measures against human-caused fires. They may also stress the need for better funding and support for volunteer fire departments and environmental protection.

Center: Centrist sources focus on the factual reporting of the fire incident, detailing the timeline, the firefighting efforts, and the successful containment without endangering nearby settlements. They provide balanced coverage without much editorializing.

Right: Right-leaning sources highlight the quick and effective response of local and regional firefighting units, praising the coordination between volunteer and professional firefighters. They may also emphasize the cause of the fire as human negligence, such as the use of signal rockets, and call for stricter regulations.
