First International Planning Meeting for Expo 2027 in Belgrade

The first International Planning Meeting (IPM) for the specialized Expo 2027 was held in Belgrade, gathering delegations from numerous countries worldwide. The event marked a historic precedent in the Western Balkans with positive impressions of the organization and progress of construction at the Expo complex in Surčin. Dušan Borovčanin, director of Expo2027, highlighted that country representatives were impressed by the exhibition theme and Serbia’s hospitality. Further growth in participating countries is expected, with next steps including finalizing the international agreement and signing contracts with participating nations. Expo 2027 in Belgrade is planned under the theme “Play: humanity, sport, music” and is expected to last 93 days, attracting over four million visitors from the country, region, and the world.
