Imagine this: three ordinary people from India, Poland, and Hungary, without any NASA or government space program backing, flew to space and returned as heroes! Yes, you read that right! Shubanshu Shukla from India, Slawos Uznanskiviński from Poland, and Tibor Kapu from Hungary have just completed a private mission to the International Space Station (ISS) and safely landed back on Earth, specifically in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California. And not just any flight — they traveled aboard a SpaceX capsule rented by Axiom Space. To make it even crazier, they were accompanied by the most experienced American astronaut, Peggy Whitson!
This trio didn’t just go to space for selfies. During their stay on the ISS, they conducted dozens of experiments and even answered calls from their countries’ prime ministers and schoolchildren. Their journey began on June 25 with a launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
This event marks a huge leap for private space tourism and shows that space is no longer reserved only for astronauts from big space agencies. India, Poland, and Hungary now have their first space tourists, and the world is getting closer to the day when space travel will be available to everyone.
Are you ready to be the next tourist snapping selfies in orbit? Or will you just watch from the sidelines and complain about how expensive and unnecessary it all is? Either way, space is changing, and we’re here to watch the show! Got a hilarious comment or think this is just the start of space madness?
