Snowdrops bloomed early in Belgrade, hinting spring.

A few days ago in the Botanical Garden in Belgrade, snowdrops bloomed, announcing the arrival of spring. In the coming weeks, the blooming of other spring plants is expected. The Natural History Museum emphasizes that the snowdrop symbolizes the change of seasons but warns that they must not be picked from the wild due to their protection. Snowdrops are present worldwide with about 19 species, and their genus is protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. They are used in horticulture and pharmacy, but are still illegally collected.
