Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder has been admitted to the hospital due to chronic exhaustion, his lawyer stated. Schröder, who suffers from difficulties with concentration, memory, and sleep disorders, is unable to cope with prolonged stress and public work. His doctor confirmed that he suffers from exhaustion syndrome. Schröder will soon turn 81 and was the Chancellor from 1998 to 2005. After his chancellorship, he became a lobbyist for Russian companies involved in the Nord Stream 2 project.
