Free Ambient Music Night in Zagreb: Experimental Sounds That Will Disturb You

Zagreb is gearing up for a night that will shake you!

On Saturday, July 5th at 8 PM, right in the heart of Zagreb, the 4th edition of Ambientalika, an experimental ambient music night, will take place. And no, this is not your average concert – it’s a sonic journey through the darkest and most disturbing soundscapes created by legendary Italian dark ambient artists New Risen Throne and Vestigial.

Who are these artists?

New Risen Throne has been dominating the dark ambient world for nearly 20 years, crafting deep, immersive, and often unsettling soundscapes that pull you into another realm. Vestigial, known for atmospheric soundscapes and experimental noise, teams up with New Risen Throne to create a unique fusion of sounds that will make you rethink what music really is.

Their music was part of the cult Swedish label Cold Meat Industry in the 2000s, and today they collaborate with the prestigious Canadian-French label Cyclic Law. At this concert, they will premiere new songs, meaning you’ll be among the first to hear their latest experiments.

What to expect?

Besides the concert itself, there will be a short warmup, a long afterparty, and a talk with the artists – a chance to peek into their dark minds and learn what inspires them. And yes, entry is completely free!

But wait, there’s more!

At the same time, the KIC Gallery Forum will open an exhibition dedicated to Josip Broz Tito. Yes, while ambient sounds take you through dark depths, you can also reflect on historical themes.

Why does this matter?

In a world where music is often shallow and predictable, events like this are an oasis for those seeking something different, something that truly disturbs and makes you think. Zagreb’s cultural scene shows there’s room for experimentation and uncompromising artists.

The bottom line

If you’re ready to step out of your comfort zone and experience music in a completely new way, don’t miss this night. And remember – this is not for the faint-hearted!

Now, while you’re pondering whether to come, take a look at your favorite playlists and ask yourself – when was the last time music truly disturbed you? If you need something to shake you up, you know where to be on Saturday night.

And hey, if you have a dark music favorite, share it in the comments – maybe you’ll introduce someone to a new world of sound!
