Fuel Prices Are Rising, and the Middle East Is to Blame!
Today, Montenegrin drivers got hit right in the wallet — fuel prices have gone up! Why? Blame the tensions in the Middle East, especially the conflicts between Iran and Israel, which have pushed oil prices higher on the global market. And as if that’s not enough, this global drama immediately hit our gas stations.
How much more expensive? Euro Super 98 now costs 1.49 euros, up by 0.03 cents from before. Euro Super 95 increased by 0.02 cents to 1.45 euros. Euro Diesel jumped by 0.08 cents to 1.38 euros, and heating oil rose by 0.07 cents to 1.31 euros. It might seem small, but it all adds up to a heavier burden on all our pockets.
Is supply at risk? No, say the authorities. Supply chains are secure and functioning without delays. But that doesn’t change the fact that we’re paying more for something happening far away.
Strategic reserves — savior or myth? This situation once again highlights the importance of having strategic reserves of petroleum products. They could soften sudden price swings and protect the domestic market in crisis times. But do we really have them, and how effective are they? That remains to be seen.
Where do we stand in the region? Even though prices have risen, fuel in Montenegro remains among the cheapest in the region. But that’s little comfort for those who fill up daily and watch their money slip away.
What’s next? Authorities expect the situation to stabilize and prices to gradually fall in the coming period. The next price calculation is scheduled for July 16, with any changes taking effect on July 17.
Bottom line? While the world shakes from conflicts far away, we pay the price. Every time a crisis erupts somewhere on the planet, our wallets get emptied. Maybe it’s time to ask ourselves — how much are we really willing to endure because of global turmoil?
So, what about you? How are you handling these price hikes? Time to save or time to protest? Drop a comment, maybe together we’ll figure out how to survive these energy storms without going broke!
