NATO aims to raise defense spending above 2% GDP.

NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, stated that future defense spending quotas for member countries will be above two percent of GDP, with a decision to be made in the coming months. Rutte called for greater solidarity among NATO members, emphasizing the need for an even distribution of the burden between Europe, Canada, and the USA. He also urged Germany to increase its defense spending and weapons production, highlighting the importance of the military support that Berlin provides to Kyiv. He stressed that NATO must be prepared for war.
