Glass Falls from Hotel Building in Zagreb: Near Tragedy on the Street!

Imagine this – you’re walking down the street, waiting for the green light at the crosswalk, and suddenly, BAM! Huge shards of glass fall from the building of the luxury Sheraton hotel in Zagreb, and you’re literally a hair’s breadth away from a disaster! Yes, you read that right. On Friday after 5:30 PM, a Zagreb woman had incredible luck that the glass that broke off the hotel building didn’t hit her in the head. “I was so lucky, if I had been standing a bit closer, it would have hit me directly in the head,” she says, still in shock from the event.

Hotel employees quickly started cleaning up the shards from the sidewalk and street, while police sent a patrol to check if it was safe to pass through. However, no Sheraton staff were willing to give statements, directing inquiries to the hotel management, whose response is still pending.

This incident raises serious questions about pedestrian safety in downtown Zagreb. How is it possible that glass from a tall building just falls onto the street? Is it poor maintenance or something else? Luckily, no one was injured, but this is a clear warning sign that something needs to change before a real tragedy happens.

Imagine if a child or an elderly person had been standing there! Are we going to wait for something terrible to happen before taking action? Clearly, luck isn’t our everyday companion, so it’s time to seriously address safety in our city.

If you were nearby or have similar experiences, drop a comment below. Is this just a coincidence or a systemic problem? Let’s get into the conversation because things like this must not happen again!
