Greek Beaches or Sunbandits? Beach Chair Prices That Will Blow Your Mind!

Greece: Land of Sun, Sea, and Shocking Beach Chair Prices! Planning a dream vacation on the stunning beaches of Halkidiki, Crete, Mykonos, or Santorini? Brace yourself for a wallet-emptying surprise that hits harder than the midday sun! What used to be a modest 3 euros for a beach chair and umbrella with a drink has skyrocketed to jaw-dropping prices. In some spots, a set of two loungers with an umbrella and a drink can cost up to 25 euros, and in the most exclusive areas of Mykonos and Santorini, a cabana-style bed will set you back a staggering 30 euros! Yes, you read that right — 30 euros for a beach chair! Popular beaches in September charge between 5 to 10 euros, but free loungers with a drink are a rare find. Halkidiki offers some beaches where loungers come free with a drink, but these are exceptions. The prices in Sitonia and Lefkada vary wildly, with tourists complaining that prices have increased several times compared to last year. For example, at Mango Bar in Kalogria, a lounger with a drink costs 4 euros, but due to anti-COVID measures, an additional charge for a third lounger in a two-person set is now 50 euros in the front row! On the Peloponnese and Evia, loungers usually come with a drink order, but prices range from 3.5 to 8 euros. Beach entry fees often add to the cost — adults pay up to 6 euros, children 3 euros, and loungers are charged separately. Zakynthos, Aegina, Pilion, and other destinations are no cheaper, with Skiathos charging up to 20 euros for a set of loungers. Tourists are outraged, wondering if this is still a holiday or a sun-soaked robbery! Clearly, Greece has become a paradise for those looking to cash in on tourists and a nightmare for those wanting to enjoy the sea and sun without going broke. Planning a trip? Think twice — is it worth paying 30 euros for a lounger, or better to bring your own umbrella and enjoy the beach without extra costs? Got any stories about these prices? Share in the comments — maybe together we can find the best beaches or at least survive this summer heist!
