Welcome to hell on earth, also known as Croatia this summer! After a brief cool down that lasted as long as a summer shower, the sun and heat are back in full force. Temperatures are soaring to staggering 35-37 degrees Celsius, and the nights are as hot as if you’re sleeping in an oven. The Adriatic refuses to give up – the bura wind is blowing like it wants to carry everything away, with stormy gusts that will make you wonder if you’re at the sea or in a desert.
In the inland, the situation is no better. Daytime temperatures climb up to 31 degrees, with nights offering a minimal refreshing break around 18-20 degrees. But don’t be fooled – it’s just a breather before the heat strikes again.
Meteorologists from DHMZ are not holding back warnings: a heatwave is in effect, and the health risk is very high. People are urged to drink water, avoid the sun, and stay indoors unless necessary. But let’s be honest – who can sit inside when there’s sun and sea outside?
Meanwhile, the bura wind keeps wreaking havoc. Strong, stormy bura gusts blow along the coast and islands, and these gusts can be dangerous. Luckily, it’s expected that by midday the bura will weaken a bit and be replaced by the maestral wind, but that doesn’t mean it will be any more pleasant.
The weekend will bring some clouds and a chance of rain inland, but it won’t cool things down much. The sun will keep blazing, and temperatures will remain high.
If you thought this was the end, think again! Next week, a new heatwave is expected to hit, making the heat even worse and making you feel like you’re in a disaster movie.
So, dear readers, get ready for another wave of hellish days and nights. Drink water, find shade, and don’t forget to laugh – because what else can we do while the sun burns and the bura howls? If you have your own tips on surviving this heat, share them in the comments. Maybe your advice will save someone from the heat madness!
