Herceg Novi on Fire, and the Local Government is Just Watching!
Have you ever heard the story of an arsonist getting a job in the fire department? Well, in Herceg Novi, something just as crazy is happening. The arsonist isn’t a firefighter but an employee in the public sector, working in the communal company’s greenery department. And guess what? This same person, previously convicted for setting fires, has now been suspected again for causing a fire in the same area – Njivice – for the second time in two years!
Who’s to blame? The local government, of course!
Tanja Vujičić, a councilor from the European Alliance, doesn’t hold back. She points out that this convicted arsonist was hired by the communal company and now has direct access to the very terrain where the fire was started again. Instead of protecting lives, property, and nature, the local authorities in Herceg Novi are enabling a convicted arsonist to work in a position that gives him direct access to the area he’s endangering.
