During the past year in Serbia, 694 cases of measles were recorded, with the most occurring in Novi Pazar. The epidemic lasted the entire year, and experts compare it to the situation in 2017. The virus spreads easily and can cause serious complications. Novi Pazar is the main hotspot, and after the Raška District, Belgrade had 104 cases. The main reason for the spread of the virus is the low percentage of vaccinated children due to the anti-vaccine lobby. The Director of the Public Health Institute in Novi Pazar, Dr. Šefadil Spahić, points out.
