Honda Amaze Cheaper Than Dacia in India, But Not Here!

Did you know that Honda, known for its quality but pricey cars, sells the Amaze model in India for under 10,000 euros? Yes, you read that right! While here Honda Civic and similar models fall into a more expensive category, in India the Honda Amaze is a true budget sedan, with a starting price around 9,000 euros. Even the top version with a CVT gearbox costs about 12,000 euros, which is slightly more than Dacia, but still very affordable.

What is the Honda Amaze?

The Honda Amaze is a small sedan about 4 meters and 5 cm long, making it compact and practical for city driving. Although it might look a bit “boxy” and awkward, this car is modern and equipped with many technological features. It has a digital instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping system, and other active safety systems.

The trunk capacity of 420 liters is solid for a car of this size. Under the hood is a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 90 horsepower and variable valve timing technology (i-VTEC), ensuring good fuel economy and reliability.

Why is the Honda Amaze cheaper in India than here?

The reason is simple: the market and the rules of the game are completely different. India is a country with over a billion people, where car price is a key factor for buyers. Honda has adapted the production and pricing of the Amaze model to be competitive in that market. Here, due to different costs, taxes, and market conditions, Honda cannot offer such low prices.

Is it possible for the Honda Amaze to be cheaper than Dacia here?

Technically yes, but realistically – not anytime soon. Dacia is known as one of the cheapest brands on our market, while Honda is a brand with higher standards and prices. For the Honda Amaze to become more affordable here, many factors would need to change, including production costs, taxes, and distribution.

Conclusion

The Honda Amaze in India proves that this manufacturer can make affordable cars, but here it is still not a reality. If you thought Dacia was the cheapest choice, you might be surprised that Honda can be even cheaper – just not here.

What do you think? Would drivers here accept the “Indian” Honda Amaze at Dacia prices? Or is it better to stick to the local market and prices? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s for and who’s against this idea!
