Many people unplug the TV cable from the outlet to reduce energy consumption, but the savings depend on the age and model of the TV. Modern TVs have low standby power consumption due to EU regulations, so turning them off often isn’t financially justified. Devices connected to the network, like smart speakers, don’t have consumption limits, so turning them off can be worthwhile. Modern TVs consume little energy in standby mode, but sudden disconnection can damage sensitive components and shorten their lifespan.
