Gaza is on the brink of a humanitarian disaster, and the aid residents receive is laughably insufficient compared to the needs. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has distributed just over 25,000 food packages across three locations in Gaza, equivalent to about 30 truckloads of aid. Officials and humanitarian organizations say that at least 100 trucks are needed daily to adequately supply the area.
Each food package is enough for five people for three days, but the problem is that these are mostly dry food products that require cooking, and in war-torn Gaza, kitchens and cooking facilities are limited.
To make matters worse, Israeli forces have killed at least 549 Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid near aid centers recently, with 72 people killed in the last 24 hours alone. This brutality further complicates the situation and highlights how deep the humanitarian crisis is and how inadequate the aid is.
While the world watches, thousands in Gaza are dying from hunger and violence, and aid is dripping in like a drop in the ocean. Will anyone step up and truly help, or will this tragedy become just another forgotten story? If you have thoughts, feel free to share — maybe your words can wake the world’s conscience.
