Increase in Leptospirosis Cases in Sarajevo Canton

An increase in leptospirosis cases has been recorded in Sarajevo Canton. According to the Sarajevo Canton Public Health Institute, 21 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infected to 64. The day before, 43 cases were reported, indicating a sharp rise. Leptospirosis is transmitted from rodents to humans, most commonly through contaminated water. Currently, three patients are hospitalized, while the condition of others is monitored according to epidemiological protocols.
