Disaster in India: Bridge Collapses, At Least Nine Dead!

A disaster has struck India, exposing a problem as old as the country itself – crumbling infrastructure! A bridge in the western state of Gujarat collapsed after heavy rains, killing at least nine people. Yes, you read that right – nine people! And that’s not all. Several vehicles were on the bridge when part of it gave way, throwing many into the river below. Five people were rescued, but the question remains: how many more lives will be lost due to such disasters caused by poor maintenance and inadequate infrastructure?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the families of the victims, but does that really help? India’s infrastructure has been neglected for decades, with bridges and highways often posing deadly risks. Remember in 2018 when a centuries-old suspension bridge collapsed in the same state, killing dozens? Nothing has changed! This is a wake-up call for the world – while rich countries boast new technologies, in some parts of the world people still die because bridges fall like dominoes.

This tragedy is not just a number; these are lives, families, dreams shattered along with the bridge. And while politicians race to make statements, the reality is that India’s infrastructure is in catastrophic condition. Will someone finally take responsibility and start investing in people’s safety, or will we keep watching bridges fall and people die? If you have thoughts on this, feel free to share – maybe your words will spark the change we desperately need!
