All 43 asylum requests in Albania denied; 6 returned to Italy.

All asylum requests from 43 migrants in a reception center in Albania have been rejected by Italian authorities. The migrants have seven days to appeal. Six migrants have been deemed vulnerable and returned to Italy. The EU Commission on Asylum and Migration has assessed that the requests were denied in violation of international law and without adequate legal assistance for the migrants. It is believed that the Italian system aims to abolish the right to asylum and criminalize migrants.
