The High Criminal Court of Croatia rejected the state prosecutor’s appeal and upheld the acquittal of former Prime Minister Ivo Sanader for war profiteering in the Hypo affair. Although Sanader received 3.6 million kuna from Hypo Bank, the court determined there was no basis for the charges. This was the second retrial after previous verdicts were overturned. Sanader, who is currently serving a sentence for other cases, has maintained his innocence from the start.
Ivo Sanader is not guilty of war profiteering.
