Jordan Nwora: Red Star’s New Hero or Another NBA Flop?

Looks like Red Star isn’t done strengthening their squad! Jordan Nwora, a 25-year-old Nigerian-American wing player, is coming to Mali Kalemegdan with solid NBA experience and a championship ring from the Milwaukee Bucks. But is he really what Red Star needs, or just another player who couldn’t make it big in the NBA?

Nwora is tall and strong, able to play multiple positions — from small forward to power forward. His biggest weapon is his shooting from distance. In the NBA, he showed he can adapt to a faster pace and more space. However, his defense was sometimes shaky, especially against quicker, more agile players. In Europe, where team defense and rotations are key, it will be interesting to see how he adjusts.

His career started at the University of Louisville, where he was a key player. He was picked 45th in the 2019 NBA draft and won an NBA title with the Bucks in his rookie season, though he played a limited role. After that, he had stints with the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors but never became a major contributor.

For Red Star, Nwora brings extra athleticism, strength, and shooting threat. His ability to hit threes and create points can relieve pressure on other players and open up the offense. Plus, his versatility gives coach Janis Sferopulos tactical options to experiment with different lineups — a goldmine in modern basketball.

Though not a star in the NBA, the fact that he was part of a championship team and has top-level experience gives him credibility. Red Star will expect him to be a reliable scorer and contribute on both ends of the floor, especially in the physically demanding EuroLeague.

So, is Jordan Nwora the real deal or just another player who’ll get lost in European basketball? Time will tell, but one thing’s clear — Red Star isn’t stopping their team upgrades anytime soon. What do you think? Will Nwora be the new hero or just another NBA story without a happy ending? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s optimistic and who’s skeptical!
