Constitutive Session in Pristina Interrupted for the 39th Time: Chaos Without End!

Folks, what on earth is going on in Pristina? The constitutive session of the so-called Kosovo parliament has been interrupted a staggering 39 times! Yes, you read that right – 39 times! And all because the MPs can’t agree on electing the parliament speaker. The Self-Determination movement’s proposal to elect the speaker by secret ballot didn’t pass, even though 53 MPs voted for it, it wasn’t enough to approve. The oldest MP, Avni Dehari, is trying to calm things down and calls on all parties to propose members for the commission to oversee the secret ballot, but no luck. Even the Constitutional Court of so-called Kosovo couldn’t speed things up – it ruled that the session must conclude within 30 days, but that didn’t help either. The elections were held back on February 9, and no party has enough seats to form a government alone. Self-Determination has 48 seats, Democratic Party of Kosovo 24, Democratic League of Kosovo 20, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo 8, Serbian List 9, and others hold 10 seats. This looks like an endless soap opera with no finale, and citizens are getting more and more frustrated. Šešelj even says this is an usurpation and that it’s high time for the police to intervene. Will this circus ever end, or are we in for many more episodes? Got a hot take? Drop it below – maybe we all need a little humor to survive this political drama!
