Konstrakta’s Pula Concert: Pump It Up, Crowd, and Two Badges for Students!

Konstrakta once again proved why she is one of the most original singers in the region at the 72nd Pula Film Festival. Her energetic and engaged lyrics, laced with irony and humor, sparked a storm of excitement in the festival garden. The concert ended with ovations and chants of “Pumpaj!” (Pump it up!), and Konstrakta handed out two badges to students of the Technical Faculty, symbolizing support for youth and their demands for justice and safety.

The festival opened with a rich program of films and music, and Konstrakta’s performance was one of the most memorable events. She sang her hits like “Ne znala htela,” “Novo, bolje,” “Mekano,” and “Šta će meni ko,” as well as a cover of Dino Dvornik’s “In corpore sano.” The audience didn’t want to let her leave the stage, so with the organizers’ permission, she performed two more songs as an encore – “Đango” and “Sećam se.”

In an interview, Konstrakta expressed concern about the increasing arrests and repression of students and citizens but remains optimistic that change is on the way. Her demands are simple but radical – justice, safety, and responsibility.

After Pula, Konstrakta headed to Šibenik, where she will perform at a concert honoring Arsen Dedić, alongside other well-known artists. The concert will be held at the Fortress of St. Michael and promises to be filled with music, emotions, and memories.

If you missed this spectacle in Pula, it’s time to ask yourself – where has real culture and engaged art gone? Konstrakta reminded us that music can be a voice for change. So, what do you think about her demands and performance? Pump up those comments and let the audience’s voice be heard!
