The Basketball Federation of Montenegro (KSCG) is at the center of one of the biggest scandals in its history. Dragan Kadić, a candidate for the federation’s presidency, has publicly accused KSCG of grossly violating the statute and the assembly’s rules of procedure. According to him, the federation announced that the next assembly will vote exclusively on Dragan Bokan’s candidacy, while his legally registered candidacy is completely ignored and silenced.
Kadić reminded that at the previous election assembly held on June 19, he was the only candidate but did not pass because only 38 out of the required 46 delegates were present. His candidacy was never rejected or declared invalid by the federation’s competent bodies, meaning that the announcement of a new competition was illegal and without legal basis.
He refused to apply for the new competition because that would legitimize a process that, according to him, is against the statute and legality. Kadić emphasized that such behavior by the federation undermines the legitimacy of the assembly and trust in the federation, representing a serious violation of democratic and sporting principles.
This case opens the door for legal proceedings before state authorities and sports institutions. Kadić called on all assembly members, sports workers, and clubs to recognize the seriousness of the moment and stand up for legality, transparency, and the dignity of Montenegrin basketball.
This situation casts a shadow over the integrity and future of the basketball federation, and many wonder if justice will ever be served in this sporting chaos. If you think this is just another election drama, think again — this is about much more than chairs and titles. Basketball in Montenegro is at a crossroads, and Kadić is ready to fight for law and order, regardless of the consequences.
