Kosta Kostanjević, former director of the Public Institution for Managing Sports Facilities (USO), has been released from pre-trial detention after resigning and following the questioning of all witnesses in the Hipodrom scandal. Kostanjević is accused of fraud related to payments for security services at the Zagreb Hipodrom, where it is suspected that working hours and services were falsely reported, causing damage to the public institution. His lawyer and Kostanjević himself maintain his innocence. Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomašević stated he wants to clarify the case and find those responsible if city funds were stolen. The investigation was initiated based on reports and investigative actions by USKOK, police, and the Tax Administration. Previously, other suspects were held in custody, and the assets of the accused have been temporarily blocked.
