Critical Water Shortage in Gornji Milanovac: Irresponsible Consumption Pushes Supply to the Brink!
Did you know that the water supply in Gornji Milanovac is hanging by a thread? Although water supply is currently functioning, officials are sounding the alarm! Excessive water consumption in the lower zones of the municipality threatens to leave many parts, especially higher zones, without water.
Ivan Lazić, director of the public utility company “Gornji Milanovac”, reveals that they currently receive about 30 liters of water per second, barely enough to cover basic needs. What’s happening? People in the lower zones are using water like there’s no tomorrow, while pipe bursts and reconstruction works on the main pipeline further complicate the situation.
Imagine this: the average water consumption throughout the year ranges between 25 and 35 liters per second, and the water inflow is just enough to cover basic needs, without any additional losses or breakdowns. This means every extra liter can cause outages!
The authorities’ appeal is clear: use water rationally! Because if we continue like this, soon we will all be thirsty. Are you ready to fight for a drop of water?
Meanwhile, while Gornji Milanovac struggles with this problem, other news happens in Serbia, but this one is of vital importance to all of us.
If you think this is just a local problem, think again. This is a warning for all of us about how irresponsible use of resources can lead to disaster.
What do you think? Is it time for all of us to start saving water or will we wait until the taps run dry? Share your thoughts, maybe your idea will save the day!
