Kurti’s Obsession with Northern Kosovo: How the Serbian Community is Being Cornered

Ready for another political circus in northern Kosovo? The Prime Minister of the provisional institutions in Pristina, Albin Kurti, seems determined to corner the Serbian community in northern Kosovo by all means possible. And not just any means — by slashing the number of local parliament councilors from 19 to 15! Yes, you read that right. Fewer councilors mean less power for Serbs to decide their own fate at the local level.

Cutting Councilors – A Blow to the Serbian Community

Miloš Garić, an information advisor, clearly states that Kurti’s strategy is to weaken Serbian areas in northern Kosovo and Metohija. The goal? To create an environment where the Pristina authorities can control the northern municipalities, even if Serbs regain local power in the October elections. Reducing the number of councilors also cuts local budgets, directly hitting the Serbs.

Political Games and Endless Circus

The situation is further complicated as Kurti delays the constitution of the parliament, obviously aiming for new elections. And the opposition? Either unable or unwilling to form a majority. All this leads to a political circus that just keeps going. The final deadline to form the parliament is July 26, but it looks like it will pass without results.

Bridges of Hate and Anti-Serb Policy

To make matters worse, Kurti recently laid the foundation stone for two new bridges over the Ibar river. At first glance, bridges symbolize progress, right? Not here. Garić calls them “bridges of hate” because, he claims, Kosovo police will use them to carry out terror against Serbs. Kurti uses these projects to boost his popularity among his voters and show he continues anti-Serb policies and extremism.

What is the West Doing?

All eyes are now on the most influential Western countries. Will they manage to stop Kurti? Or will they allow the situation in northern Kosovo to worsen? The Serbian community remains uncertain as political games continue.

Conclusion

Kurti does not give up his obsession with weakening the Serbian community in northern Kosovo. Reducing councilors, delaying parliament formation, anti-Serb rhetoric, and “bridges of hate” are all parts of a broader strategy. While the political circus goes on, Serbs in northern Kosovo remain under pressure.

So, what do you think about these moves? Just another political game or something much more dangerous? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, or crack a joke about the bridges — because sometimes laughter is all we have left in this chaos.
