Looks like Albin Kurti just can’t stop playing dirty against the Serbian List! The Central Election Commission in Pristina has decided to cut the number of councilors in local parliaments of Serbian-majority municipalities in northern Kosovo from 19 to 15. Coincidence? Of course not! Milovan Drecun, chairman of the Defense and Internal Affairs Committee of the Serbian Parliament, clearly states this is just another attempt by Kurti to block the Serbian List from protecting the interests of the Serbian people.
Cutting the number of councilors isn’t just a number game – it’s a direct hit on the political power of Serbs in northern Kosovo. Drecun warns that Kurti does not respect the political will of the Serbs, and that the central authorities in Pristina set municipal budgets without public discussions or citizen input, unlike municipalities where Albanians are the majority. For example, the budget for the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica is set for only 10 people, while the voter list counts 18. How does that make sense? It’s a clear sign that they want to block serious funding for Serbian municipalities.
But wait, there’s more! Drecun predicts Kurti will continue with new moves to marginalize the Serbian List and prevent it from fighting for the Serbian people’s interests. When the Serbian List opposes central government projects, like building police or military bases in northern Kosovo, Kurti could declare these projects of national importance and veto decisions in municipalities where the Serbian List holds the majority.
The Serbian people are under tremendous pressure, and the only way to stop Kurti’s terror is for the Serbian List to win a two-thirds majority in the elections. But will he allow that? Kurti clearly doesn’t want Serbs to have a voice and power in northern Kosovo. This isn’t just a political fight – it’s a fight for survival and the rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo.
If you think this is just another political game, think again. This is a war for territory, identity, and the future. And Kurti is playing dirty, with no rules. What do you think? Will the Serbian List manage to withstand this pressure, or will Kurti succeed in strangling them? Drop a comment, let the people’s voice be heard!
