Chaos in Bled: Did Livaja Really Hit a Security Guard?
In the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, Bled became the epicenter of a scandal shaking Croatian football! Slovenian media first reported shocking claims that Marko Livaja, Hajduk’s captain, physically assaulted a security guard. Yes, you read that right – reportedly, a fight broke out in which the guard lost consciousness, suffered scratches, and even broke a tooth!
The incident allegedly happened around 1 a.m. on the promenade near the lake, where a group of about 15 Hajduk players were leaving a local bar. Three security guards, hired by the municipality of Bled due to previous incidents, reportedly warned the players about disturbing public order, but the situation escalated into a physical altercation.
However, Hajduk quickly responded, denying any involvement of their players in the fight. The club claims the players were at a joint dinner and that the guards, who are not employees of the hotel where the team stayed, reacted aggressively to the music being turned off from a portable speaker. They say there was only a verbal dispute and minor shoving, not a serious fight.
On the other hand, the security company SSO Security confirmed the incident and that one of their guards was injured. They reported the incident to the police but stated they will not sue anyone. Slovenian police confirmed a public order disturbance occurred and are conducting proceedings against two individuals suspected of a criminal offense.
To complicate matters, information surfaced that one of the guards demanded 5,000 euros from Hajduk the day after the incident to keep the story out of the public eye! The club refused, and the story leaked to the media.
Journalist Jurica Radić, who follows Hajduk’s preparations, claims Livaja reacted in defense of teammate Prpić, who was allegedly physically attacked with an open palm to the face or hand. Witnesses say they heard something break, possibly the guard’s tooth. However, sources close to Hajduk say there was no serious violence, only shoving.
RTL revealed new details: the incident happened on the morning of July 1, and the guards claimed the players were visibly drunk and rude, which allegedly led to the fight. The police investigation is ongoing, and the truth will soon come out.
This story is a complete mess! If it turns out Hajduk lied in their statement, it would be a huge scandal. If not, the situation becomes even more mysterious as the sides contradict each other. In any case, captain Livaja has full club support, but the public is still waiting for the real truth.
What do you think? Is this just another football drama or is there something much more serious behind it? Drop a comment, maybe together we can untangle this mess!
