Every year, a big star cancels their performance at the Exit Festival, but this time it’s the double Eurovision winner Loreen who had to pull out. She was supposed to perform on the third night on the Tesla Universe stage, but due to serious health issues, she had to cancel her trip to Novi Sad, leaving fans shocked and disappointed.
Loreen publicly apologized to the audience and explained that she had been struggling with vocal and respiratory problems for several weeks, which made it impossible for her to fully use her voice. Doctors advised her to rest to properly recover and heal, which she accepted with a heavy heart. “I don’t take performances lightly,” Loreen said, emphasizing how important it is for her to give 100% of her energy and voice when they meet again.
Even though her absence left a void, Exit still delivered a spectacular show. Over 55,000 people enjoyed performances by the globally popular pop band Hurts, whose setlist marked an entire generation of hits like “Some Kind of Heaven,” “Ready to Go,” and the worldwide hit “Wonderful Life.” Frontman Theo Hutchcraft expressed joy at returning to Exit after 11 years, while DJ Burak Yeter put on a fantastic show, raising the energy on the dance arena.
Mystic Marley, Bob Marley’s granddaughter, also performed on the main stage, bringing a fusion of rich cultural heritage and contemporary expression, while the charismatic Marko Luis won the hearts of the audience with his immediacy. Legendary Sex Pistols, Frank Carter, DJ Snake, Boris Brejcha, and many others also performed, making this year’s Exit unforgettable.
Although Loreen had to cancel, her message of love and gratitude remains clear. We can’t wait for her to come back stronger and ready because stars like her can’t stay away from the stage for long. So, what do you think about these cancellations at big festivals? Is health more important, or does the audience deserve better? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s on which side!
