Luka Bojović, the notorious Belgrade criminal, is back in the spotlight — but not for his crimes. This time, it’s about a failed assassination attempt against him that was luckily stopped in time. At a trial in the Higher Court in Belgrade, Bojović revealed shocking details about how a five-member group planned to kill him, yet he had no clue his safety was at risk.
It all started in early February this year when suspects Nikola P., Milan I., Filip K., Saša K., and Bogdan P. allegedly began plotting the hit. According to the indictment by the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, they jointly acquired weapons, rented apartments in Vračar, rented cars, and surveilled Bojović. They even tested a Walther Creed pistol with a filed-off serial number, intended for the murder.
But the plan fell apart thanks to quick police action. When Nikola P. was arrested, police found the pistol loaded with one bullet in the chamber and 13 more in the magazine. In Milan I.’s family garage, over 73 grams of cocaine were found, confirming the group’s dangerous nature.
At the trial, Bojović said he noticed nothing suspicious during the critical period and that his private security never warned him of any threat. He also couldn’t confirm with certainty that the cars shown in the surveillance images were his, as they had no license plates. Although he admitted two armored Audi A8s looked like his vehicles, he couldn’t confirm ownership.
What’s especially intriguing is that Bojović doesn’t recognize a man shown in one of the images, adding mystery to the case. He also did not join the criminal prosecution against the accused and did not file any property claims.
This story reveals just how dangerous and chaotic the criminal underworld in Belgrade is, where murder plots are hatched like in the movies — but thankfully, the police manage to stop tragedies. Was Bojović really the target, or is this just another criminal intrigue? One thing’s for sure — this drama is far from over.
