The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Mirza Kapić to four and a half years in prison for planning a terrorist attack on the “Bosna” mosque in Zenica in 2023. He was convicted of planning the attack with the aim of intimidating the population and destabilizing society. In addition to the prison sentence, Kapić was ordered to undergo mandatory psychiatric treatment. He had previously been sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison for illegally crossing the border into Syria to join terrorist groups.
