Serbs Are Fleeing Kosovo Like It’s the End of the World!
Did you know that in just two years, a staggering 20% of the Serbian population has vanished from Kosovo and Metohija? Yes, you read that right — one-fifth! And this isn’t some random coincidence. It’s the direct result of relentless provocations, pressures, and systematic persecution orchestrated by the regime of Albin Kurti.
Marko Đurić Sounds the Alarm
Marko Đurić, head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, openly discussed this alarming situation with a delegation of French MPs. He emphasized that France is one of Serbia’s key strategic partners and that it’s crucial to continue and deepen bilateral cooperation, especially given the dire circumstances facing the Serbian people in Kosovo.
Parliamentary Cooperation: The Key to Normalization
Đurić highlighted Serbia’s high regard for the active involvement of French parliamentarians in the normalization process between Belgrade and Priština. This cooperation is vital for preserving Serbian cultural, religious, and historical heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
The EU and Brussels: Where’s the Solution?
While Belgrade approaches talks in Brussels with transparency and constructiveness, Đurić warns of the urgent need to establish the Community of Serbian Municipalities and protect the basic human rights of Serbs in the southern province. Without this, the situation will only worsen.
French MPs on the Ground
The delegation of French MPs, including Frédéric Petit, Marine Hamelet, Pierre Pribetich, and Jean-Louis Rumeau, is currently visiting Serbia to assess the situation and contribute to parliamentary dialogue for normalization. Their visit signals that the international community can no longer turn a blind eye.
What’s Next?
As the Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija faces pressure and exodus, the question remains — who will stand up for them? Will international actors finally grasp the seriousness of the situation, or will they keep looking the other way?
