Massive International Sting Exposes Human Trafficking and Prostitution Ring in BiH

Imagine this – international criminals involved in recruiting for prostitution and human trafficking have finally been caught! In a massive operation called Global Chain, which took place from June 1 to 6, a Chinese national and two Bosnian nationals were arrested. But that’s not all – about 20 potential victims were uncovered, including women from China, Brazil, and BiH, who were forced into sexual exploitation, begging, and forced marriages.

This operation was no small feat – nearly 15 officers from 43 countries participated, and in BiH, 13 law enforcement agencies were actively involved, including the prosecutor’s office. They checked 41 people, 6 vehicles, and 71 locations!

Mobile phones, laptops, personal documents, and cash were seized as evidence for further proceedings. Two Interpol yellow notices were issued, and four new investigations were launched nationally, with seven more initiated internationally.

This operation dealt a serious blow to criminals who have exploited vulnerable people for years. But is this the end? Of course not! Human trafficking is a global problem that requires constant fighting. If you have ideas on how to better prevent such crimes, jump into the conversation – maybe your idea could make a difference!
