McLaren and Piastri: The Penalty That Set Formula 1 on Fire!

A 10-second penalty for Oscar Piastri at the British Grand Prix has ignited a firestorm in Formula 1! McLaren thinks the punishment was way too harsh. Piastri was penalized for improper driving in front of Max Verstappen after suddenly slamming the brakes while the safety car was on track. The Australian slowed down to just 52 km/h mid-straight, sparking outrage. Despite the penalty, Piastri finished second behind teammate Lando Norris. McLaren isn’t happy with the stewards’ decision. Team director Andrea Stella said the incident needs a closer look because the safety car was called late, leaving drivers little time to adjust. Verstappen had to take evasive action to avoid a crash, which led to the penalty. Stella believes this will only fire up Piastri to be more determined in upcoming races. Piastri currently leads the championship, ahead of Norris and Verstappen. The next race is the Belgian Grand Prix on July 27. Is this the start of a fierce battle or are the stewards crushing young talent? Drop your thoughts—maybe you know what’s really fair in Formula 1!
