Discounts for women’s clothing are everywhere, but what about men? While women enjoy huge sales and large sections in stores, men often face emptiness and minimal choices. We investigated the situation at Zagreb’s Arena Center and found that men’s sections are often half the size, with significantly fewer discounted items. Basic men’s t-shirts cost around 5 euros and are rarely discounted, while women’s sections are full of promotions and a variety of products. Men’s jeans can be found for 10 euros, but the quality is often lacking. Sportswear and footwear offer somewhat better discounts, but the selection is limited there too. There is also a problem with the lack of standard sizes, especially XL, which further complicates shopping for men. Although there are ways to save, such as buying off-season or older collections, it is clear that men are not on equal footing when it comes to discounts and selection in stores. This shopping injustice raises questions about gender inequality and discrimination in the consumer world. If you’re a man, next time you go shopping, ask yourself — why is your section in the store like a desert? And ladies, have you ever thought about how it is for men? Share your experiences and comments, maybe together we can change the rules of the game!
