Mercedes-Benz wants China to build factories in the EU.

Mercedes-Benz CEO, Ola Källenius, suggests that the EU encourage Chinese car manufacturers to open factories within the Union as part of a solution to remove punitive tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. He points out that China previously required European manufacturers to invest in its market, which could now be part of resolving the trade dispute. Brussels imposed tariffs of up to 45% on imports of Chinese vehicles due to unfair subsidies, prompting China to respond with anti-dumping tariffs. German manufacturers are opposed.
